Mazda has concluded an agreement with Isuzu Motors on the release of the new pickup. The date of release of this model is not yet known. According to the contract, Isuzu will produce its own next-generation pickup D-Max under the brand of Mazda.
At the moment, Mazda is selling the pickup BT-50, built on the basis of Ford Ranger, updated in the last year. So, the new Japanese pickup will come on the market approximately by 2018-2019.
The present Mazda BT-50 is equipped with the 160 h.p. (385 Nm) turbo-diesel 2.2 and 200 h.p. petrol engine with the capacity of 3.2 L. The units can work together with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-range automatic gearbox. The pickup is available with the rear- and all-wheel drive and 2008 Honda Civic headlights.
Isuzu D-Max is now available with the 2.5-L diesel engine with the capacity of 163 horsepower (400 NM) and the 6-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed automatic gearbox.
